31U5 R & D Marine PRM Gearbox Damper Drive Plate
Fitted between the engine and the PRM gearbox input shaft, a damper drive plate is designed to transmit the engine power to the gearbox, whilst reducing transmitted gear noise and providing a cushioned drive when selecting gear. All R and D Damper Drive plates include a ‘failsafe’ design.
Replaces PRM Drive Plate MT1633.
Also called the Driven Plate, Damper Plate or Clutch Plate, the 31U5 Damper Drive Plate is from the R and D hammer head element range. Common applications for the 31U5 drive plate include marine engines with SAE 11.5″ (11½) flywheel fixings.
The technical details:
– Spline: 17 teeth 16/32 DP (28.84mm diameter) for PRM 301, 302, 401, 402, 500 and 750 gearboxes.
– Diameter of back plate which bolts to the engine flywheel: 352.5mm (13.875″) SAE 11½”
– Back plate fixing holes: One single set of fixing holes 8 x 10.6mm on 333.4mm pcd SAE 11.5
– Drive plate maximum thickness: 35mm (1.38″)
Fitted with the multi-directional ‘U’ Hammer Head element for up to 475Nm 350 ft lb torque, providing a smaller element diameter which is more torsionally flexible than the loop type elements and provides three stage stiffness with up to 9 degrees of deflection. The 31U5 damper drive plate is also failsafe.
