Description
Racor 500MAM turbine fuel filter protects precious engine components from contaminants such as dirt, rust, algae, asphaltenes, varnishes and water. The fuel filter replaces Volvo Penta 877763 fuel filter units.
The Racor 500MAM10 marine turbine is fitted on the vacuum side of the fuel transfer pump for maximum efficiency. The Racor 500 turbines work through a three stage process; Separation Coalescing & Filtration explained below.
– Stage One: Separation: Fuel enters the Racor 500 filter assembly, it moves through the turbine centrifuge and spins off large solids and water droplets which fall to the bottom of the collection bowl.
– Stage Two: Coalescing: Small water droplets bead-up along the sides of the chamber and element, once heavy enough these fall into the bottom of the collection bowl.
– Stage Three: Filtration: Algae, rust and dirt are filtered from the fuel by the Aquabloc element, as the elements are waterproof they are much more effective and long lasting than water absorbing elements.
The Racor 500MAM10 filter is fitted with a metal bowl and 10 micron element. The turbine has a maximum flow rate of 227 LPH through a 3/4″-16 UNF port.
Replacement Racor turbine elements (2010 series) are available to order with various microns. Racor 2010 turbine elements measure 78mm OD x 70mm high.
