Description
This Surecal twin coil calorifier is a simple and efficient means of heating water in your domestic system for use with showers, taps, galley and washing uses. Comparable to a domestic boiler, this calorifier has an inlet for cold water but then uses a link from the engine cooling system to heat the inner coil and therefore the water. It is also supplied with a 240V immersion heater with a built in thermostat. This calorifier can therefore provide you with free hot water while motoring or charging batteries. There is also another coil which can be used with a secondary water heater source.
The boiler is made entirely from copper, designed with performance and health benefits in mind. Copper features excellent anti-bacterial qualities, especially when compared to stainless steel and plastic materials, so gives clean sanitary water throughout your boat. It also heats quickly and the drop coil technology ensures quick transfer of heat from the coil to the water. The outside of the calorifier is insulated in a polyurethane jacket designed to retain heat for up to 24 hours after the engine is switched off. Each calorifier is rigorously tested to ensure the quality and reliability promised.
Water stored in the calorifier reaches the same temperature as the engine, generally about 85°C. The calorifier uses a thermostatic mixing valve to combine this water with cold water to give the required water temperature when hot water is demanded.
The calorifier is easy to connect up and can be installed in a or horizontal position. It is supplied with the thermostatic mixer valve, a 4 bar pressure release valve, a 1kw immersion heater and stainless steel mounting brackets. Other accessories or replacement items are also available.
