Description
The McMurdo SmartFind M10 AIS Class B Transponder is ideal for smaller non SOLAS vessels (where a Class A Transponder is not necessary).
The SmartFind M10 transmits vessel position information and receives all AIS targets within 20 miles of the boat (typical).
Using its inbuilt GPS receiver, the SmartFind M10 transponder determines position, speed and course, and once combined with other navigational information, is automatically transmitted without user interaction. When received by other vessels and coast stations, the data provides a live graphical display of traffic in the area.
The Class B transponder integrates with navigation systems, supports NMEA2000 and NMEA0183 output, meets IEC 62287 and related standards, and also features an optional WiFi interface and USB connectivity.
Utilising the SD card slot, the transponder can be quickly and easily used as a data recorder, enabling the capture of all messages, assisting in system and safety monitoring, including incident investigation. Recorded data is logged and stored.
The Silent option setting allows the user to temporarily stop the broadcast of identifying information on occasions where either privacy or security is required.
WiFi enables wireless connectivity to a user’s smart device (tablet, phone, laptop) allowing operational flexibility.
